Libérame
Original Score — String Quartet, Classical Guitar & Voice
“Libérame” (“Free Me”) was inspired by the massacre of El Mozote in El Salvador during the Salvadoran Civil War in 1981. In this tragedy, the Salvadoran military battalion Atlacatl was ordered to exterminate the village of El Mozote. The atrocity remained uninvestigated for years, and those responsible were never brought to justice.
This composition portrays the psychological and emotional struggle of a survivor searching for freedom and truth, sustained only by faith in God and the cruelty of time. In their final moments, they are left to imagine the peace and justice that forever remained beyond reach.
Los Tres Llantos
Original Score - Trio Guitar & Latin Percussion
Three cries and three different feelings. "Los Tres Llantos" ("The Three Cries") revolves around the sentiment of starting again at a new place adapting to the unknown. There is a side of the story that nobody talks about when an immigrant leaves home for a better life, leaving everything they know behind. There is a bridge between loneliness and desperation that only those strong enough to see it can avoid.
This piece explores the different feelings that come with a "better life" and how difficult it might be for some people to leave and keep moving forward without that special thing that keeps driving them forward.
